CE-quality label
Puripher developed all its fully automatic Low NOx gas burners based on the fuel staging principle of combustion.
These burners have been available since 1989 under the name NOx DOWN.
Fuel Staging Basics
Puripher burners are certificated with a European quality label. This CE mark guarantees the safety of the burner
installation during its life. Also a very important benefit of the Puripher burner installations with the CE label is
that the burners can be installed in each European country without any adjustment. The control panel with its
electronic components and safety control unit is approved in accordance with the Electro Magnetic Compatibility
Directive (EMC). At a virtually constant excess of air the first stage of combustion elapses in an oxygenrich zone.
The largest excess of oxygen atoms produces a low temperature in the flame. Any unburnt element from the fuel is
fully incinerated in the following stage, in which the remainder of the fuel is injected into the mixture as a cooling
agent. These steps delay the progress of combustion, which influences the shape of the flame and ultimately
determines the heat emitted to the walls of the fire tube or furnace. The emitted heat also depends to a great extent
on the radiating characteristics of the flame. These measures lead to a low temperature in the flame so that as per
the Zeldovic mechanism NO production is kept to a minimum.
